A historic exploration of baseball

Free Inquiry: Initial Questions

Hello everyone, and welcome to my blog. This blog will explore the wonderful sport of baseball. To begin this Inquiry Project I will provide guiding questions that will shape the direction of my blog moving forward:

How is the game of baseball played? (What are the rules? How long is a game? How many players are on each team?)

Where did the sport originate? And where is the game being played now?

How has the game changed over the past 100 years?

Are there any issues with the game? Is the game accessible to everyone?

I hope to answer all these questions and more throughout the course of creating this blog.

Interesting topic Devon, I myself have never been super into baseball because the games are so long but I’m very excited to learn about the history part! It might be a cool lesson some of us could incorporate into our social studies classrooms if it relates to colonization, for example.

I’m also curious if baseball inspired cricket or if cricket inspired baseball? Something to think about as you explore!

Hey Devon, thanks for having me here on your blog.
I must admit, growing up near Toronto I have been to many Jays games. It is a common past time for us Ontarians. But! I know next to nothing about the game. I am looking forward to seeing what you have to share in the coming weeks and the tech and content you include. Thanks!
